Building-integrated solar PV company ClearVue Technologies has announced a manufacturing and distribution agreement with Viridian Glass, which will see the Perth-based company enter the New Zealand market.
In an ASX statement on Monday, ClearVue said the five-year deal involves NZ’s leading glass processor making and distributing ClearVue's solar-integrated glazing solutions within that country.
Global CEO of ClearVue Martin Deil said, “This agreement represents a significant step in expanding ClearVue’s presence in the region and making our innovative solar glazing solutions more accessible to the New Zealand market.”
Viridian Glass NZ CEO Nigel Rigby added that customers are “increasingly seeking sustainable and innovative building materials,” and ClearVue’s technology will meet that demand.
“At the same time, the New Zealand Government’s commitment to renewable energy and energy-efficient building regulations presents a strong opportunity for ClearVue’s technology to contribute towards sustainable urban development while contributing meaningfully to a greener future.”
The news grows ClearVue’s list of international licensees, following the recent addition of Sinrok Solar Energy in South Korea to this.
Last week ClearVue announced that it will supply its clear solar glass to construction firm SRG Global for a redevelopment of the the City Tattersalls Club’s rooftop terrace, marking what it said was both its first high-rise deployment and the first demonstration in Sydney’s CBD.
The company was awarded a place on this title’s Australia’s 50 Most Innovative Manufacturers list in 2024.
