The National Reconstruction Fund (NRF), Bradfield Development Authority (BDA) and the Advanced Manufacturing Readiness Facility (AMRF) have announced “a strategic partnership” aimed creating “a pipeline of referrals between AMRF and NRF”.
According to a joint statement, the relationship aims to assist “businesses looking to build out their supply chain”. The release cited the steps of manufacturing listed in the NRF’s recently-shared definition, based on the seven steps of the “smiley curve” concept: R&D, design, logistics, production, distribution, sales, and services.
The NRFC (National Reconstruction Fund Corporation) is a funding vehicle established by the federal government, aimed at diversifying the economy through deploying $15 billion in debt, equity and guarantees.
The AMRF is a NSW government-funded initiative aiming to assist manufacturers through access to “advanced technology, expertise, training, and networks”. It is based at Bradfield City Centre, and officially opened its First Building (pictured) in May, with another under construction.
The statement added that 37 per cent of proposals for NRFC investment so far had come from NSW companies.
“As Australia’s first new city in 100 years located on the doorstep of the Western Sydney International Airport, Bradfield presents a significant opportunity to establish a global hub of industry innovation in Western Sydney,” said state planning minister Paul Scully.
