NSW government releases 12-month agenda for export programs and trade missions

Manufacturing News

The NSW government says that over 30 Going Global Export Programs and Going Global Trade Missions will be delivered over the next 12 months, which are expected to support 350 NSW businesses, with two thirds of these in “manufacturing and the clean energy economy”.

Publishing a forward agenda for the year’s programs and trade missions – to be delivered by Investment NSW – was a first for the state, according to the NSW government. It said the idea to do so emerged through consultation on the NSW Trade and Investment Strategy 2035.

“The NSW Government is committed to supporting businesses on their export journey, and the export support program we’re announcing today will strengthen their ability to crack new markets and accelerate their exports,” said industry minister Anoulack Chanthivong (pictured) in a statement on Wednesday.

Going Global Export Programs run over two to four months and include expert workshops, pitch and cultural advice, market intelligence and introductions to potential customers.

Going Global Trade Missions run for a similar period of time and include market preparation workshops and “business matching, brand-awareness raising activities, and support to participate in a global trade show or conference”. Upcoming missions include to India and themed around Net Zero and Energy Transition and a Life Sciences and Healthcare to Korea mission in April next year.

Information on export programs and trade missions is available here and here.
