Oly Homes delivers future-ready housing for seniors in Thallon

Sunshine Coast-based Oly Homes has delivered two purpose-built modular homes designed for seniors in the Thallon community of South West Queensland. The project is part of the Queensland Government’s Quickstarts Queensland initiative, which aims to provide accessible housing solutions for ageing residents in regional areas.

This project follows Oly Homes' previous work, including the delivery of nine modular homes and accessible units to Thursday Island in late 2024. The company employs modular construction methods to address housing needs in regional and remote communities efficiently.

“We built these two Gold LHA homes with a specific focus on catering to the needs of seniors living in Thallon, including those who have challenges with mobility. Both homes were built in our Yandina factory over a three-month time period which is a lot quicker than traditional building methods which can be impacted by weather, supplies and access to tradies. Once the homes were completed off site we transported them to Thallon where ancillary services such as connections, driveways and fences were completed for the first residents to move in,” said Steven Nousala, General Manager of Oly Homes.

After off-site construction, the homes were transported to Thallon, where final works, including service connections, driveways and fencing were completed to prepare for occupancy.

With over 52 years of experience, Oly Homes specializes in modular and steel frame construction throughout Queensland. The company focuses on designing and building energy-efficient homes tailored to Queensland's environmental conditions.
